Is it text messaging?

No!

Schoop is an app that uses push messaging which is free and unlimited. Push messaging only requires the most basic of data signals, and does not rely on a telephone signal.

What if I don’t have a smartphone or a tablet?

Not a problem! People can subscribe and get exactly the same messages, newsletters and calendar events via email. 95.5% of Schoop subscribers are using iPhone, iPad or Android devices.

We have divorced parents. Can both parents get the same information?

Yes!

Unlike SMS based systems, Schoop can be downloaded by anyone, so many more than parents can be involved. In modern families, it is common for parents to rely on carers, childminders, extended family and friends. They all have a role to play, and they all have a right to be in the loop.

We already use text messages. Why Schoop?

Text messages cost a minimum of 4p each, which is why schools only use them for administrative purposes – on the whole. Also, Schoops can be sent to anyone who wants to download the app, so more than just parents can be in the loop.

We take data protection very seriously. Schoop uses SSL security much like an online bank to protect your log in and identity.

What about safeguarding children?

All the information in Schoop is one-way and non-sensitive. Schoop is about the information finding you instead of you having to looking for it.

Any data stored which may personally identify you is encrypted, and can only be decrypted within the Schoop management software.

Is there lots of additional work?

No!

Schoop takes a couple of minutes to set up, and training can take less than 10 minutes. It is really easy to use.
